Longtime teafriend Laura in Kennesaw, Georgia sent me this recipe (from Land O Lakes) and I have to say, it sounds DELICIOUS!
Question: What tea would you pair with these cookies?
CHOCOLATE CHAI LATTE COOKIES
Chai tea-spiced cookies start with a chocolate cake mix
to save time, but there is no skimping on flavor!
Cookie Ingredients:
1 (18.25-ounce) package butter recipe chocolate cake mix
3 tablespoons instant chai tea latte mix*
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
1 cup milk chocolate chips
Glaze Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
3 to 5 teaspoons water
Heat oven to 350°F. Combine all cookie ingredients except chocolate chips in large bowl; beat at medium speed until well mixed. Stir in chocolate chips.
Shape dough into 3/4-inch balls. Place 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until tops are set and cracked. Cool 2 minutes; remove from cookie sheets. Cool completely.
Combine all drizzle ingredients except water in small bowl. Add enough water for desired drizzling consistency. Drizzle over cooled cookies. Store between sheets of waxed paper in container with tight-fitting lid.
Preparation time: 1 hrs
Baking time: 9 min
Yield: 6 dozen cookies
*Substitute 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon, 1 teaspoon ground cardamom, 1 teaspoon ground ginger and 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves.
Recipe Tip
Instant latte mixes are sold in the coffee/tea section of the supermarket. Be creative and try your favorite flavor in this recipe.
Recipe Tip
Cookies can be sprinkled with mixture of 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon and 1/4 cup powdered sugar instead of drizzling them.

These look wonderful. Chai is my favorite and since I make my own mix already, these will be a breeze. Thanks.
Mmmm...sounds heavenly!
TeaLady, do let us know what you thought of these cookies!
These sound yummy!
I would pair a Ceylon or Assam with the cookies I think. Nothing that would interfer with the chai chocolately flavor!!
I would pair it with a black tea that has a bit of a chocolate back note, could maybe be Yunnan Gold. Of course, I like everything with Yunnan Gold.
Yum! Just added this to my Pinterest board for baking ideas--thanks!
