What starts with T, ends with T, is filled with T - and travels? Why, it's The Traveling Teapot of course!

Behold The Traveling Teapot
The Traveling Teapot is a current 'project' of the online tea group Afternoon Tea Across America. For the next year-and-a-half, a cute little plum-colored teapot (pictured above) will be making the rounds between seventeen ATAA group members. Every month a different person will "host" the teapot, sharing with others, in her own special way, the graciousness that a cup of tea represents.

The first stop for the Traveling Teapot was Oregon; it then journeyed across country to Ohio. Before the project ends, this well-traveled teapot will have visited California, Washington, Kentucky, Ohio, Oregon, Missouri, Florida, Canada - and France!

A special Traveling Teapot blog has been created so that each hostess can share the teapot's experiences during its month in her care. I highly encourage you to visit the blog to see the imaginative ways the Traveling Teapot is being used to proclaim the virtues of "the cup that cheers".
More about Afternoon Tea Across America: ATAA is an online tea group with members from around the world. (I'm one of them!) Started in the year 2000, discussions center around anything and everything related to tea, and at every level. It is a place for learning and sharing - and members are truly very friendly and kind. Visit Afternoon Tea Across America for joining information.

It was indeed fun to be the first to host the Traveling Teapot. I must say though, the 2 that have hosted it since leaving my hands have been extremely creative.

Hi Milla,

I've just left you a message on your lovely blog, but wanted to welcome you here to Uniquely Tea.

Tea lovers here will appreciate Milla's yearning that the terms "Afternoon Tea" and "High Tea" NOT be used as one in the same! I totally agree with you, Milla. I don't like it when Afternoon Tea is referred to as High Tea.

Glad to find your blog, too. I will have the honor of a visit from The Traveling Teapot next Spring. It's so fun to see and be apart of it's journey. Many happy teatimes ahead.

Welcome Karen! It's great to be blogging again. (I've put a link to your blog on my front page.) The Tales of the Traveling Teapot are fantastic, aren't they? I bet you are already making plans. LOL

I was so happy to host The Traveling Teapot and share tea time with others and spread the word about tea. Thank you Denise, for sharing the blog with your readers and we invite everyone to join us in following the adventures of The Little Purple Pot.

It is so nice that the traveling teapot can bring attention to the charming practice of afternoon tea. As an ambassador of tea, the little teapot not only highlights the service of tea, but encourages friendship and brings joy to all who participate and observe.

Go little teapot! Great post, Denise!

LaDonna, the moment I read your words "Go little teapot" the tune "Shine Little Glow Worm" popped into my mind! LOL
