Fuschia Tea Emporium, Charleston, SC

It's becoming a bit mad around here with my son J.B.'s wedding looming on the horizon so my posting has been a little slow. We'll be rounding out the month of September here at Uniquely Tea with some odds-and-ends, and then in early October will reprise the series we ran last year on tea-themed Halloween costumes and other fun Halloween tea things. You would be surprised at the number of people who land on this blog - from all over the world - by searching for tea-themed Halloween costumes!!!

Today I'm posting a few photographs taken at my soon-to-be Daughter-in-Love's bridal shower tea held last month at Fuschia Tea Emporium in Charleston, SC. Fuschia is a lovely Irish tearoom with an adjoining Irish shop (Forty Shades of Green). If you are ever in Charleston, don't miss it. It's the only true tearoom around.

Notice the shelf of teacups on the wall. Prior to tea, you get to choose the teacup you wish to use. We had fun that day color-coordinating our teacups to what we were wearing!

The food was not only tasty, but lovely as well

I like the Fuschia teapots they use.

Due to a very temperate climate fuchsias
grow abundantly in the West Cork region of Ireland.

The food looks amazing. Mmm, tea sandwiches!

It's nice that there is somewhere else to have tea in Charleston. The tea at the Charleston Place Hotel was nice, but this looks lovely - what a great menu. I would certainly enjoy the Barry's tea.

Looks like Erin's shower was fun. I'm looking forward to seeing the tea themed Halloween costumes.

Even as a guy I think it'd be cool to match the teacup with what I was wearing. That is, if the teacup wasn't overly feminine. Do they have masculine or neutral teacups at such places? --Teaternity

Jason, If it's a forward-thinking tearoom, yes, they would have more masculine-suited teacups. And Fuschia does.

parTealady, It was fun! I am not at all impressed with Afternoon Tea at Charleston Place Hotel. They definitely need a makeover! Years ago, it was a perfect place for tea. Don't know what's happened.

What a great place to have tea! I love fuschia's but they are difficult to grow...at least for me! I remember my son's wedding...it was so much fun, and so much work...it consumed me! But well worth it...they've been maried 14 yrs. now...unbelievable how the time flies!

God bless,
Mary

Stay sane (my stepdaughter is getting married in two weeks, so I can relate!), and I'll look forward to hearing from you when we can!
