Happy New Year! DRINK TEA!

Happy 2009!! Hope one of your New Year Resolutions is to

DRINK [more] TEA!!!!

A cup o' kindness this New Year's Eve

Where oh where has the year gone? Everyone I talk to seems to feel this way about 2008.

I've always loved all things Scottish, especially bagpipes and the poetry of Robbie Burns. Having recently joined, I was delighted to discover loads of ancestors from Scotland - back as far as 1045 (Dorothy of Raby)!

Speaking of the poetry of Robbie Burns, isn't this teacup a beauty? I'm thinking I might "need" a couple of these!

Tall and Handsome and I will be spending New Year's Eve as we do every year - with neighbors. An oyster roast in the back garden, cards and karaoke on the back porch, counting down the final minutes via telly watching the ball drop in Times Square ... and finally, celebratory champagne all around.

Wherever you find yourself this New Year's Eve, I wish you a cup o' kindness - for auld lang syne.

Auld Lang Syne

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And auld lang syne?

For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne.
We'll take a cup o' kindness yet,
For auld lang syne.

And surely ye'll be your pint-stowp!
And surely I'll be mine!
And we'll take a cup o' kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

We twa hae run about the braes
And pou'd the gowans fine.
We've wandered mony a weary foot,
Sin' auld lang syne.

We twa hae sported i' the burn,
From morning sun till dine,
But seas between us braid hae roared
Sin' auld lang syne.

And ther's a hand, my trusty friend,
And gie's a hand o' thine;
We'll tak' a right good willie-waught,,
For auld lang syne.
