Tea and Biscuits for Everyone!!!

Everyone entering the UK, that is.

According to an article in The Telegraph last week-end, every person flying into Britain will be offered a free cup of tea and a biscuit in an ambitious, if eccentric, plan to make the country more cheerful!

The man behind the idea is Mark Price, the managing director of Waitrose (an upscale UK supermarket and the only place I could find canned pumpkin in London during Thanksgiving week). A week-long trial in November at Heathrow's Terminal 5 will offer up 5,000 cups a day to travellers in the arrivals hall.

Before the plan goes ahead, Waitrose needs to decide which style of biscuit they will offer to inbound travellers. "I am very fond of a Garibaldi, or Bourbon, but neither is a very good dunker."

And speaking of biscuits, if you've never visited Nicey and Wifey's "Nice Cup of Tea and a Sit Down", you absolutely must do so! It's a fun (and informative) site and they specialize in reviewing the plethora of [UK] biscuits on the market today. Loads of fun!

What an interesting thing! Makes me want to hop on a flight just to see it! Too bad the economy is in the tank!
