This is off-topic but I am a Legal Secretary and this is my blog so I thought I'd throw you a movie-related post today! (I do love a good film, don't you?)
The August 2008 issue of the ABA Journal (American Bar Association) has a fun article called The 25 Greatest Legal Movies. The Journal polled 12 "prominent lawyers" who teach film or are connected to the film industry to select what they regard as the best movies ever made about lawyers and the law. Together, the films represent 31 Oscars. Quite impressive!
There are several I have never seen (and now want to), but some of my all-time favorites are in there such as #1, #3, and #21.
The 25 Greatest Legal Movies
To Kill a Mockingbird 12 Angry Men My Cousin Vinny Anatomy of a Murder Inherit the Wind Witness for the Prosecution Breaker Morant Philadelphia Erin Brockovich The Verdict Presumed Innocent Judgment at Nuremberg A Man for all Seasons A Few Good Men Chicago Kramer v. Kramer The Paper Chase Reversal of Fortune Compulsion And Justice For All In the Name of the Father A Civil Action Young Mr. Lincoln Amistad Miracle on 34th Street
Anyone else out there a fan of legal cinema??

I'm sure someone had a cup of tea in one of those legal movies! Who can find the tea swilling actor/actress in one of these great legal movies? There Denise, it's not off topic.

LOL Thanks, Nancy! Quick thinking! (Must be all that leftover fairy dust!) :-)
Well, I'm an attorney & anytime I can combine tea & the law - yeah! There really are some great movies on the list: My Cousin Vinny is one of my all time favorites, probably because we watched it the night before the 2nd day of the Bar Exam. Another is Amistad. Caught it on cable a few years ago & was pleasantly surprised at what a great movie it was. I can't recall for sure, but there may be some tea drinking. Have to watch it again now - with a pot of tea, of course - and see who the tea drinker was!

Patricia, how nice to see you here! We *love* "My Cousin Vinny" -it's one of those movies we can watch time and time again and still roll over in laughter. Some great strategies in it, as well! We have Amistad on DVD but haven't watched it yet. You've inspired me now to do so. Thank you!
Yes, indeed, I love the legal movies as well! Thanks for the list!
