Wedding Bells

My [step]son Jason married his long-time love Carla on August 2 at a ceremony outside London along the River Thames.

Our Jason is handsome as ever and Carla ~ already a beautiful person inside and out ~ made a stunning bride. (Can you spot the horseshoe? Old English wedding tradition calls for the bride to carry a horseshoe for good luck.)

In England, wedding cake is traditionally fruitcake, and the top layer is called the "christening cake" which the couple saves for the baptism of their first child.

Here's the Groom enjoying one of many fortifying cups of tea at the reception.

Kids, we are very proud of you and wish you both a lifetime of love and happiness!
[Edited to add: Enjoy your honeymoon in Egypt!!!]

What a charming couple! And I love the design of that wedding cake! I wonder if that's a British style. We cover a lot of weddings in a spring issue of our magazine each year, and I've never seen a cake like that. Lovely!
